An Ikigai Living
in Singapore

An Ikigai Living in Singapore is an interior photography and videography project created in collaboration with interior design firm Twenty Stories. Guided by a visual storytelling approach, the project sought to translate the essence of ikigai — the Japanese philosophy of finding purpose and joy in the everyday — into moving and still imagery.

Set within a two-bedroom flexi HDB flat, the home’s Japanese-inspired design embodies a balance of functionality and aesthetic refinement, transforming an ordinary space into one of quiet intentionality.

Through considered direction, lighting, and framing, we crafted a visual narrative that captures the soul of the design — where every texture, shadow, and composition reflects the calm pursuit of living with meaning.

The result is a story of simplicity, harmony, and purpose — a visual ode to finding beauty in the understated and purpose in the everyday.
